Project's description

Dhaka, Bangladesh’s capital is the world’s fastest-growing mega-city with a population of more than 15 million people. Facing traffic congestion and pollution issues, one of the world’s most densely populated cities launched city’s first MRT line in order to ease transportation. The 19.8 km-long MRT, expected to open in 2022, consists of 16 elevated stations from Uttara to Motijheel stations and aims to carry 60,000 passengers in an hour running every four minutes.

Nippon Signal supplies the signalling and train control system including: Automatic Train Supervision Computer Based Interlocking, CBTC-type ATP System (SPARCS), Automatic Fare Collection, PSD System.

Scope of work

In this context, CERTIFER is involved as Independent Safety Assessor to assess the compliance of CBI, ATP, ATO, ATS, Train Detection System, PSD System and Lineside signalling equipment with CENELEC standards.
