Project's description

The SEA HSL Project consisted of a main section of 302-km double track line between Tours and Bordeaux, with 7 connections to the French network totalling 38km of additional double tracks. The main section is electrified to 25kV – 50Hz and is equipped with GSM-R, ETCS L2 and TVM 300 (French Class B System). Rolling stock running on the SEA HSL are equipped with ETCS L2 and/or with French national signalling system (TVM 300 / TVM430). Hitachi Rail STS (former Ansaldo STS) was in charge of designing, installing and testing ETCS L2.

Scope of work

In this context, CERTIFER carried out a NoBo service to assess the ETCS L2 compliance with the ControlCommand and Signalling Technical Specification for Interoperability (TSI), an AsBo service to assess the project’s compliance with the CSM regulation (Commission implementing Regulation No 402/2013 of 30 April 2013 on the common safety method for risk evaluation and assessment and repealing Regulation (EC) No 352/2009) and an ISA service to assess the compliance of the ETCS L2 with CENELEC standards. The ISA assessment related to the following safety cases: GASC ETCS L2 and SASC ETCS L2
